About the Position

• Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs and responses.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or standard care protocols.

• Monitor and document patient status, progress, and any changes in condition.

• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and families to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.

• Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate.

• Ensure adherence to all safety, infection control, and patient privacy standards.

• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional development.

• Must successfully pass the Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered onsite before starting the assignment (one retest opportunity available).

• Floating between departments and/or local facilities within 20 miles may be required

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of current experience in an 18+ bed Telemetry or Progressive Care Unit .

• Experience in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.

• Completion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment .

Preferred:

• Experience with Epic EMR .

Licensure & Certifications

Required:

• Active RN license in the State of New Mexico or Compact State.

• BLS and ACLS certifications (from AHA, American Health & Safety, or American Red Cross), NIHSS.

• Must pass the Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) prior to or during the first week of assignment.

Preferred:

• NIHSS certification.
