Chart Retrieval Specialist - Knoxville (TN) Datavant is a data collaboration platform trusted by providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies to make health data secure, accessible, and actionable. This part‑time role involves visiting provider offices in the Knoxville area to retrieve medical records and has a hybrid work arrangement (home and field). The position requires reliable customer service skills, self‑troubleshooting abilities, and the capacity to work independently and meet accuracy targets. Key Job Details Drive up to 100 miles daily Hybrid (home office and field) Mileage reimbursement and per‑chart incentive Average weekly hours 20‑28 Cross‑training opportunities Available Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in your time zone Responsibilities Visit provider offices to scan or upload assigned medical record charts using EMR systems and Datavant equipment Manage weekly schedule through Datavant systems, confirming appointments and arriving prepared and on time Engage healthcare providers professionally, providing daily updates to the remote team on progress, challenges, and completion status Confirm correct charts for retrieval, accurately mark them as retrieved, and troubleshoot technical issues Work independently to achieve chart‑retrieval accuracy and efficiency goals Record daily work hours, mileage, and reimbursements in company systems Adhere to the Company Code of Conduct, policies, and HIPAA compliance Cross‑train in multiple departments and support additional hours as needed Travel to assignments in other geographic areas when desired and required Assist with additional duties as needed Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Availability 8 a.m.–5 p.m. for at least three consecutive days per week Reliable, insured personal vehicle and valid driver’s license in good standing Reliable internet service and phone for remote communication Basic computer skills (scanning, file organization, uploading to secure servers) Proven punctuality, reliability, quality work, and ability to follow directions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills Dependable, timely arrival at appointments, clear communication with supervisor Professional appearance in business casual attire Positive attitude and willingness to learn through a five‑day training program Physical ability to roll and lift a 45‑lb equipment case or maneuver a 25‑lb soft case Additional Details Part‑time role with variable hours; some weeks may be busier than others Paid hourly for chart‑retrieval time and for time spent driving; mileage reimbursement provided Paid training and support will be provided Working Conditions Over 90% time indoors; protection from weather. Occasional exposure to distracting noise. Personal vehicle required; rideshares not approved for regular commute or business travel. Physical Requirements Driving is a significant portion of the position. Requires sitting, talking, hearing, and near vision >90%; walking ~10%; standing >30%; touching 90%; reaching ~50%; bending, twisting, and climbing; lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally; high‑level lifting (52 lbs) under 2% of the time.
