Commercial Refrigeration Installer Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Commercial Refrigeration Installer to support supermarket refrigeration installation projects throughout Texas. This position is responsible for installing refrigerated cases, walk-in coolers and freezers, refrigeration rack systems, piping, evaporator coils, controls, electrical components, and associated equipment. The position requires approximately 90% travel, with installers typically working out of town during the week and returning home on weekends.

The ideal candidate has hands-on commercial refrigeration installation experience and the technical ability to contribute independently in the field. There is no specific minimum years-of-experience requirement, with demonstrated knowledge and ability carrying greater weight than tenure. Candidates with experience across supermarket refrigeration systems, including DX and CO2 applications, will be particularly well aligned. Our client is an established commercial refrigeration contractor serving supermarket and retail projects throughout Texas. The company performs installation work involving complete refrigeration systems and associated equipment, providing technicians with exposure to refrigerated cases, walk-ins, rack systems, piping, controls, and other components across the refrigeration trade.

This position offers consistent project work, substantial overtime potential based on workload, and exposure to both traditional DX and CO2 refrigeration technology. Employees have the ability to contribute ideas and have a voice within the organization rather than simply filling a production role. • Install commercial supermarket refrigeration equipment, including refrigerated cases, walk-in coolers and freezers, refrigeration racks, evaporator coils, and associated components.
• Execute refrigerant piping installation and brazing required for commercial refrigeration systems.
• Perform case setting and equipment installation in accordance with project requirements and field conditions.
• Install and connect electrical and control components associated with refrigeration equipment.
• Perform or support DX and CO2 system start-up, including installation of CO2 piping and associated components.
• Coordinate with field crews to complete refrigeration installations safely, accurately, and according to project schedules.
• Verify installed equipment and system components are properly prepared for start-up and operation.
• Travel to project sites throughout Texas based on customer schedules and project requirements.

• Hands-on commercial refrigeration installation experience with the demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform assigned installation work.
• Working knowledge of supermarket refrigeration equipment and installation practices.
• Experience with relevant refrigeration installation activities such as refrigerant piping, brazing, case setting, electrical connections, controls, rack systems, walk-in coolers/freezers, or system start-up.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 90% throughout Texas, typically working away from home during the week and returning home on most weekends. Some projects may require up to two consecutive weeks away from home.
• Availability to work approximately 40 to 60 hours per week depending on project workload, with overtime as required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment drug screening and background check.

• EPA Section 608 certification.
• Experience installing and starting up DX and CO2 commercial refrigeration systems.
• Experience with CO2 piping and supermarket refrigeration rack systems.
