Lead Java Engineer

As a Lead Java Engineer, you will support the ComputerShare Corporate Trust applications, which includes public access applications and internal applications. You will perform coding, provide technical guidance and consult with application teams, clients, and engineering managers. You will also need to support the business lines with their demand; and you are part of a cross-functional Agile delivery team which creates customer-oriented solutions.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices.
• Lead projects through the whole software development life cycle, including design, coding, implementation, automation testing, functional testing, and post deployment support.
• Apply knowledge of standards, policies, best practice and organisational structure so that you can work both independently and collaboratively within your team and with key stakeholders.
• Coordination of the automation planning across multiple teams and functional areas
• Provide informal guidance, mentorship and share knowledge with colleagues to enable them to contribute to the team’s objectives.
• Support the evaluation and resolution of technical challenges and blockers to minimise their impact on the team’s delivery and/or supported products.
• Identify and support improvements and innovation in technologies/practices within your team that would benefit the business e.g. efficiency in the software development process or improved customer experience.

Experience Needed:

Required:

• 10+ Years of Java/J2EE development experience
• 5+ Years of experience with APIs and/or Microservices
• 2+ Years of experience with Spring based frameworks
• 1+ year of Full Stack. development (preferred)
• Experience working with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps is preferred)

Preferred experience in:

• Any of the following UI technologies: JavaScript, JSON, CSS, JQuery, Eclipse, Ajax and HTML 5
• Web application development using Spring, JSP, Spring MVC and Hibernate
• SQL and PL/SQL on Oracle and/or SQL Server database platforms
• Agile development environments using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
• Other Spring related platforms: Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Integration and Spring Security
• Any of the following middleware and Cloud platforms: Tomcat, Weblogic, Redhat OpenShift, Azure, RabbitMQ.
• DevOps tools such as GitHub, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Maven, Gradle and Code quality tools
• Web service development in any of the technologies: Rest API development, JSON, SOAP
• Unit testing using any one of the following testing frameworks: Selenium, Groovy, GMock, JUnit, Mockito, EasyMock, JMock, Spock
• Single Page MVA development using Angular.js or React.
