Project Engineer

Airswift

Airswift is seeking an Engineering Specialist to support a Capital Initiatives team within a nuclear environment. This role is responsible for contributing to the development, design, and implementation of engineering solutions across a nuclear fleet.

The position will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and deploy engineering-driven improvements, system enhancements, and operational solutions that increase reliability, optimize performance, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the development, design, and implementation of engineering applications and system improvements across the fleet
Contribute to initiatives related to system modifications, operational enhancements, and plant performance optimization
Research and provide technical documentation, engineering reports, and design packages for internal and third-party stakeholders
Coordinate technical reviews and design evaluations with plant and site engineering resources
Analyze and resolve system design, configuration, and operational issues
Provide engineering expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical challenges
Evaluate impacts of engineering changes at both system and fleet levels and present recommendations
Develop technical bases, calculations, design documentation, and supporting engineering analyses
Perform engineering studies and coordinate inputs from cross-functional teams (operations, maintenance, licensing)
Support project execution including planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting
Maintain accurate project and engineering records in accordance with company standards
Communicate effectively with technical teams, site leadership, and stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited or equivalent)
Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience (nuclear experience strongly preferred)
Experience with system design, engineering analysis, or plant modifications
Background in the utility industry, preferably in engineering or operations at a plant/site level
Familiarity with BWR or PWR systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Demonstrated ability to manage engineering deliverables, schedules, and technical documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Skills:

Experience with design engineering, system performance analysis, or plant modification programs
Familiarity with engineering change processes and configuration management
Project management experience (PMP or MBA preferred)
Proven ability to improve engineering processes and develop standards
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a regulated environment
Technical certifications or nuclear industry credentials are a plus
