Medical Oncology Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Oncology Physician to join our oncology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient oncology and hematology consultations, diagnosing and staging cancer, developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care. This full-time position involves working Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, and includes coverage for patients aged 18 and above. The physician will utilize EMRs such as ONCO and Cerner and will participate in a range of procedures related to oncology treatments.

Qualifications:

• Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology Oncology
• Active DEA and CSR licenses
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience
• Preferred but not required: State license; IMLC accepted if licensed elsewhere
• Willingness to consider licensing if not already licensed

Work Details:

• Contract Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension
• Shifts: 5x8 hours (08:00 - 16:30)
• Patient Load: 12-15 patients per day
• Special Procedures: No advanced procedures required; bone marrow biopsy referrals available if necessary
• Support Staff: Director of Oncology and Infusion services, Clinical RN Supervisor, Oncology RNs, Nurse Navigators, Medical Assistants, clerical staff, Pharmacists, and billing/coding staff

Compensation & Additional Pay:

• Overtime (OT) at 1.4x rate after 40 hours/week
• Holiday pay at 1.5x rate for designated days (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day)

Travel:

• All-inclusive travel benefits including airfare, rental car/gas, and hotel accommodations
• Airport: Pittsburgh International Airport
• Rate: $700 per hour (all expenses paid)
