Our team values collaboration, clinical excellence, and a warm, welcoming environment for both patients and staff. We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will support our gynecologists and clinical staff in delivering outstanding patient care. This role involves a blend of clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, and comfortable working with sensitive patient populations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
• Assist physicians and NPs with gynecological exams and procedures, including Pap smears, colposcopies, IUD insertions, and in-office biopsies
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and stocking of supplies
• Perform point-of-care testing, urinalysis, and pregnancy tests
• Administer injections and medications as directed by licensed providers
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection and preparation for laboratory processing
• Assist with patient education and discharge instructions

Administrative Duties

• Schedule and confirm patient appointments; manage patient flow throughout the day
• Document clinical encounters accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
• Process prior authorizations, referrals, and prescription refill requests
• Respond to patient phone inquiries and portal messages in a timely, professional manner
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and practice privacy policies

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 1–3 years of clinical medical assistant experience, preferably in OB/GYN or women's health
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR); experience with Modernizing Medicine or similar platforms preferred
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when handling sensitive patient matters

Preferred

• Experience in gynecology, women's health, or a related specialty
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
