The Opportunity Abbott Point of Care (APOC), a division of Abbott (NYSE: ABT), enables health care professionals to accurately achieve real‑time, lab‑quality diagnostic results at the point of care within minutes. Testing at the point of care enables health care professionals to make rapid triage and treatment decisions when diagnosing a patient’s condition or monitoring a treatment response. By simplifying the testing process, clinicians can focus on what matters most caring for the patient. Our location in Abbott Park, Illinois has an opening for a Manager, Contracting & Pricing. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our Global Medical Affairs team and serve as a key member of the APOC Leadership Team. You will contribute to APOC’s vision and mission by defining and executing a global medical strategy to enable new product launches and on‑market product availability. What You’ll Focus On Manage teams with focus on policy and strategy implementation and control rather than development. Short‑term operational/tactical responsibilities. Develop pricing strategies to meet customers' needs while providing a profit for the organization. Develop and implement pricing plans for the organization's products/services to meet established targets. Contribute to business planning to develop a pricing strategy consistent with the organization’s overall mission, vision, and objectives. Define objectives and allocate resources to ensure pricing is effective, economical, and appropriate for the intended audience, whilst still profitable for the company. Adjust pricing strategy and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions. Liaise with other managers to ensure activities are integrated with other parts of the business and aligned with the overall corporate objectives. Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of pricing professionals. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree (± 13 years). Total combined minimum experience of 5 years. General Business Management (finance, materials, customer services, etc.) – 3 years. Pricing/Contracting Manager or Marketing Product Manager – 3 years. Sales experience – 2 years’ knowledge of U.S. health care delivery systems, health and human services, health care economics, reimbursement, coverage issues, and billing practices. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors’ degree preferred. Federal Government Oversight. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of OIG Guidance, Pharma Code, Government Best Price, and Anti‑Trust laws. Experience in managing operations directly impacted by Quality Systems and high‑level FDA scrutiny. Knowledge of all assigned Sales Channels (which may include one or more of the following – Managed Care, DME – Mail Order, Government, Hospital Trade/Retail and Wholesale markets). Experience in resource allocation and negotiation. Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Medical Devices would be ideal.
