Managing Veterinarian (Medical Director) – Brookline, MA

Chasm Partners is proud to partner with Small Door Veterinary in the search for an experienced Managing Veterinarian to join its growing leadership team.

What You'll Do

• Provide exceptional medical care while diagnosing, treating, and counseling clients on their pets' health.
• Lead and mentor a team of veterinarians, fostering clinical excellence and professional development.
• Ensure medical standards, protocols, and best practices are consistently followed.
• Partner closely with the Member Experience Manager and Head Nurse to create a collaborative, high-performing practice culture.
• Coach doctors through regular performance conversations focused on medical quality, client experience, teamwork, and professional growth.
• Support practice operations, including oversight of controlled substances and medical compliance.
• Champion Small Door's culture while delivering an outstanding client and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent)
• Active veterinary license (or ability to obtain licensure in the applicable state)
• DEA license (or ability to obtain)
• Approximately 8+ years of clinical experience
• Strong surgery and dentistry experience, including procedures beyond routine spays and neuters
• Previous leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor and develop veterinary teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for collaboration, coaching, and practicing high-quality medicine
