Engineering Technologist

This classification represents the third level of a degreed technical role for non-engineering personnel. The Engineering Technologist III provides technical expertise to resolve complex issues and applies leadership capabilities to oversee and direct work within a defined area of expertise, with limited supervision. Key responsibilities Provide engineering support for major projects within the Triad Zone, including distribution system upgrades from the substation to the customer Coordinate with engineering firms, customers, contractors, and management Participate in field visits and customer meetings Support storm response efforts locally or in other designated locations as required Provide technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches Conduct engineering and related studies Requirements - education & experience Minimum of two years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or a minimum of six years of equivalent experience without a degree Direct experience in electric distribution Required skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds Technical expertise to solve complex problems Leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work Ability to work with greater independence Nice-to-have / preferred skills Understanding of basic principles of project management Impellam Group and its brands are equal-opportunity employers committed to diversity and inclusion.
