Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

Manages a formal Engineering Efficiency and Industrial Engineering Program with facility-wide impact, including:

  • Conducting work measurements studies, engineering time standards, workflow optimization, and staffing utilization reviews.
  • Applying Lean Six Sigma, System Thinking, and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste and increase efficiency across Engineering Service.
  • Leading data analysis and performance monitoring using VISTA, FILEMAN, EOC Tools and other engineering databases.
  • Managing redesign projects related to wayfinding, shop standardization, maintenance reliability and service responsiveness.
  • Developing facility-wide maintenance procedures, inventory control systems and standardized documentation practices.
  • Advising Engineering Leadership on operational decisions and long range planning using data-driven analyses.
  • Serving as Alternate ADPAC for Engineering Service, supporting workflow automation and technology implementation.

Supervision of Maintenance Operations:

  • Provides direct technical and administrative supervision for Pipefitters, Electricians, Carpenters, Locksmiths, Maintenance Mechanics, gardeners and other trades.
  • Responsibility include:
  • Planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work across multiple maintenance shops.
  • Ensuring work orders meet safety, timeliness, quality and documentation requirements.
  • Planning and executing long-range maintenance, equipment replacement and infrastructure renewal projects (6 months to 5 years).
  • Coordinating complex multi-craft activities including utility shutdowns, testing, inspections and emergency repairs.
  • Overseeing critical utility systems including domestic water, sewage, fire suppression systems, electrical distribution, carpentry operations and grounds.
  • Managing all equipment inventories and EIL accountability for assigned shops.
