Ability to participate in comprehensive treatment plans for patients dealing with pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic pain, prolapse, incontinence, endometriosis, and sexual health concerns. More seamless communication with referring providers, leading to better continuity of care and patient outcomes. Less time spent treating general orthopedic conditions and more opportunity to specialize in pelvic health. Ability to build expertise in complex women's health cases that may not be as common in a traditional PT practice. The Pelvic Floor Specialist works on-site in collaboration with our provider team and performs comprehensive evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal/postpartum musculoskeletal complaints, post-surgical rehabilitation, and sexual pain disorders. Skills: Knowledge of obstetric conditions and pelvic anatomy. Expertise in both external and internal pelvic floor assessments/treatments. Familiarity with prenatal and postpartum exercise protocols and birth recovery practices. Comfortable discussing sensitive topics related to sexual and reproductive health. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly around delicate or personal issues. Ability to educate and empower patients through their recovery and wellness journey. Education and Experience: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program. NJ PT License Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) and/or Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) through Herman & Wallace preferred. Certificate of Advanced Practice in Physical Therapy in Pelvic Health (CAPP) and/or Certificate of Advanced Practice in Physical Therapy in Obstetric Health (CAPP-OB) through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) preferred. 2-3 years’ experience working in women’s health/pelvic health. Prior experience in OB/GYN or similar clinical setting Company-paid Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage Company-reimbursed license renewal fees.
