Diversified Sourcing is seeking a dependable and motivated CNC Machinist I  to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position is responsible for operating CNC equipment using established programs, setups, and work instructions to produce quality parts safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of machining principles, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills. Working under the direction of a supervisor or experienced machinist, the CNC Machinist I will assist with production operations, load and unload materials, monitor machine performance, perform basic part inspections, and report quality or equipment concerns promptly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines using approved programs and established setups after receiving appropriate training and authorization.
• Load and unload materials and workpieces using approved workholding methods and safe handling procedures.
• Follow work instructions, setup sheets, and basic engineering drawings to complete assigned machining operations.
• Monitor machine operation, tool condition, and part quality throughout the production process.
• Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other assigned inspection tools to verify dimensional requirements.
• Perform basic tool wear or offset adjustments only as trained and authorized.
• Assist experienced machinists with routine setups, tool changes, and job changeovers as directed.
• Stop machine operations and notify a supervisor or experienced machinist when equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or unsafe conditions occur.
• Identify, separate, and report nonconforming parts in accordance with established quality procedures.
• Accurately record production quantities, inspection results, and job time in designated systems.
• Complete routine machine care tasks and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures.
• Work toward established production goals while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Participate in training and continuously develop machining knowledge and technical skills.

Required Qualifications

• Basic CNC machining knowledge gained through hands-on experience, technical training, or relevant coursework.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively under supervision.
• Basic understanding of CNC machine operation and safe manufacturing practices.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings and identify relevant dimensions and tolerances.
• Basic proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and other assigned measuring instruments.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to work with decimals, fractions, and measurements.
• Attention to detail and the ability to recognize and report quality concerns.
• Willingness to learn CNC controls, inspection methods, machine setups, and machining processes.
• Dependability, good communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a production team.
• Commitment to workplace safety, product quality, and meeting production expectations.
• Availability to work an assigned shift, Monday through Friday, either first shift (7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) or second shift (3:00 p.m.–midnight).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating CNC mills or lathes.
• Completion of a machining certificate, technical training program, or related coursework.
• Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls.
• Previous experience machining carbon steel or aluminum.
• Experience working in a manufacturing facility or machine shop.
• Demonstrated interest in developing advanced machining and setup skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the work area for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to handle materials, tools, and workpieces safely.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking fluids while using required personal protective equipment.
