Payroll Coordinator

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Performs complex and technical accounting payroll and clerical functions in the preparation and processing of payroll personnel documents and benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting Finance Business Human Resources or other closely related field plus two (2) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Due to the nature of this position the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements. Coordinates payroll functions for the division. Provides quality customer service by answering any questions regarding timesheets and leave Performs automated timecard payroll functions. Assures all time is approved for biweekly payroll processing and verifies all personnel actions have been completed prior to payroll May collaborate with division HR Coordinator and Mayors Finance to resolve Performs timesheet auditing to ensure accuracy and reviews reports to track worked hours of employees. Prepares processes and reconciles employee mileage. Distributes paper checks. Performs separated employees final payroll Provides data for internal and external Serves as backup for the HR Coordinator when needed. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Perform repetitive manipulative skills such as data entry for extended periods of time. Lift and carry 20 pounds.
