Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: Associate’s degree from an accredited OT Assistant program recognized by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy and completion of all fieldwork requirements. Current and valid COTA license issued by the State of New Hampshire. Prior experience in a school setting preferred. Experience implementing appropriate therapy under the direction of an Occupational Therapist. Experience assessing and selecting assistive technology in a school setting preferred. Valid driver’s license and own transportation. Responsibilities of the Position: Provides direct occupational therapy services to students according to IEP goals for compliance with established practices and procedures. Adapts school and classroom environment, tools and materials under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist to improve student functioning and facilitate student access to curricular and instructional activities. Assists Occupational Therapist with assessing students’ fine motor and developmental skills (oral motor, sensory integration, motor planning, developmental function, activities of daily living, fine motor function, postural tone, etc.) to determine deficits and develop recommendations. Attends meetings and workshops (IEPs, trainings, team meetings, conferences, meetings with outside agencies) to convey or receive information, including best practices for school OT delivery. Specified Length/Hours of Position: This is a non-affiliated 180‑day position following district policies and the school calendar. Supervisor will set hours up to 28 hours per week.
