What we're looking for

The Unit Clerk will perform administrative/clerical duties in support of an assigned area.

How you'll contribute

• Greet patients and visitors.
• Answer, screen, and route telephone calls.
• Call codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Enter nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse.
• Ask for clarification when necessary.
• Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Assemble and maintain patient records and charts.
• Perform needed clerical tasks, such as copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies.
• Assist RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate's degree Preferred.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
