Instrument Technician

Role Description The Instrument Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation and control systems used in refining, recycling, and related operations. Day-to-day tasks include calibrating instruments, performing routine inspections, executing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant performance. The Instrument Technician will work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to support process control reliability, document maintenance activities, and adhere to established safety and environmental standards. This position may require working in industrial environments, responding to equipment issues, and participating in scheduled shutdowns or projects as needed. Qualifications Strong instrumentation and calibration skills, including experience with field instruments, sensors, transmitters, and control devices. Proficiency in process control systems and troubleshooting, with the ability to diagnose and resolve control loop and equipment performance issues. Experience performing preventive maintenance on instrumentation and related equipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, such as P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals. Familiarity with industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazard communication. Relevant technical education or certification in instrumentation, electronics, or a closely related field; prior refinery, petrochemical, or industrial experience is beneficial. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operations environment.
