Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Technician 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position requires on-site support located in San Diego, CA.

Job Duties:

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems
  • Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with 4 years of experience
  • Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, drawings, and designs
  • Experience soldering wires and terminals in a manufacturing or development setting
  • Experience fabricating and testing electrical wire harnesses and cables

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Soldering, Wire Harness Fabrication, or Circuit Card Fabrication (Through-Hole or Surface Mount)
  • Experience working in a FOE/FOD controlled environment
  • Understanding of factory accountability and 5S principles and their implementation in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with handling and utilization of ESD (electrostatic discharge) sensitive components
  • Capability of performing functional check-outs, continuity testing, or hipot/dielectric withstand testing on wire harnesses and cable assemblies

Primary Level Salary Range: $61,100.00 - $101,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
