Creative Arts Therapist Elementary School- LCAT

Counseling In Schools is currently seeking full time Licensed Creative Arts Therapist to work in an Upper West Side elementary school-day through afterschool program. This role will encompass providing individual and group creative arts therapy to students during the school day supervising art therapy interns and offering daily creative arts enrichment in afterschool program.

Reports To: Program Director
Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as mental health support within school community
• Coordination and supervision of intern responsibilities
• CIS and DYCD documentation
• Direct service provisionboth during school day and afterschool
• Reports to Site Director on day to day operation of the program including any relevant intern information.
• Attend regular meetings clinical supervision with LCAT Supervisor and trainings within CIS.

Qualifications:
Required:

• LCAT ATR
• Supervisory experience
• Positive leadership skills
• Effective time management
• Strong written and oral communication
• Program schedule operates 9:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday-Friday; this position follows the NYC Public Schools calendar including Summer Rising Program
• Available immediately

Preferred:

• Experience in school-based programs
• Experience in afterschool programming
• Ability to provide engaging art based recreation and SEL large group activities
• Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation
• Experience supervising interns a plus
