Student Health Services / Campus Health Clinic Qualifications & Job Requirements

Current New Jersey physician license (MD or DO) with residency and board certification Active NJ CDS and DEA registration BLS and ACLS certification required Up-to-date titers and vaccinations as required by the clinic Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check At least 1 year of clinical experience required (experience in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or college health is a plus) Strong interest in preventive medicine, adolescent medicine, and health education Excellent English communication skills - verbal and written Ability to physically assist patients when needed Primary Responsibilities

Provide direct primary medical care to students, including urgent care, preventive services, and chronic disease management Deliver office gynecology and reproductive health services, including contraception counseling, PrEP/PEP, and gender-affirming care Assess and manage mental health concerns in collaboration with campus mental health resources Evaluate and treat sports injuries and musculoskeletal complaints common to student populations Perform minor office procedures such as cyst removal and laceration repair Conduct physicals: sports exams, annual exams, and gynecological exams Document patient encounters in the EMR (Medicat) within 24 hours to ensure accurate campus health records Respond to student inquiries through the patient portal or phone in a timely manner Participate in outreach, vaccination clinics, TB testing clinics, and other campus health programs Collaborate with nurses, clinic staff, and the office manager to coordinate care and support clinic operations (triage, immunizations, referrals) Join our healthcare team and make an impact on student health in Newark, NJ.
