Scientist - III (Senior)

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Scientist III for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in West Point, PA . Details for the position are as follows: Job Title: Scientist III – Analytical Development Location: West Point, PA Pay Rate: $72.62/hr Duration: 1 Year Job Description Develop, optimize, and qualify analytical methods for characterization of biologics and small molecules. Perform routine analytical testing using chromatographic, electrophoretic, and biochemical separation techniques. Process, analyze, review, and document analytical data using electronic laboratory notebooks and laboratory software. Prepare reagents, standards, and analytical solutions for laboratory testing. Perform instrument calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on analytical instrumentation. Conduct scientific data review and maintain laboratory documentation in compliance with GMP/GLP standards. Support analytical characterization of proteins, lipids, mRNA, and other biotherapeutic molecules. Education Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline with 2+ years of relevant industry experience; OR M.S. with 5+ years of analytical development experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry; OR B.S. with 7+ years of analytical development experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. Required Skills Hands‑on experience with HPLC/UPLC, including Reverse Phase (RP), Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC), and Ion Exchange Chromatography (IEX). Experience with Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), cIEF, and electrophoretic separation techniques. Analytical method development, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting. Experience analyzing biologics, proteins, mRNA, peptides, or other large molecules using chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques. Proficiency with chromatography data systems including Empower, 32 Karat, or equivalent laboratory software. Experience with laboratory documentation, electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), scientific data review, and GMP/GLP laboratory practices. Preferred Skills Experience with Multi‑Angle Light Scattering (MALS), Refractive Index (RI), UV, Fluorescence (FLD), and Charged Aerosol Detector (CAD) technologies. Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Zeta Potential characterization. Experience with Simple Western instrumentation. Experience supporting analytical characterization of biologics and small molecules in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
