Software Development Engineer, Differentiated Security Team (DST)

Amazon Security is looking for a Software Development Engineer who is excited to build security visibility and observability capabilities across Stores businesses. This team is reimagining how we scale security for the breadth and depth of Amazon’s unique business footprint, building solutions to enable actionable interpretation of data from security data sources across the enterprise services. Key Job Responsibilities Full Stack Engineering: work on both frontend and backend development tasks, write high-quality, efficient, testable code, recommend improvements in development, maintenance, and system standards, and contribute to software documentation. Tech Design Decisions: participate in tech designs and discussions, make informed decisions about technology choices, evaluate trade-offs between different design options, and propose optimal solutions. Code Review: conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards; provide constructive feedback to team members and help them improve their coding skills. Best Practices: promote best practices in software development, including code organization, documentation, testing, and version control. Work in an agile development environment. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
