About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Correctional Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1-2 years required License: Must possess a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, MOAB Must-Have: MOAB certification required; if not possessed, the traveler will receive a de-escalation course during their first week. Years of experience required: 1 Weekend requirement: Every other weekend Description: The role is primarily focused on the Addictions Medicine department. The department oversees medication-assisted treatment for substance use, including Suboxone, detox medication administration, and Methadone medication pass. You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients undergoing withdrawal from substances. Assessments and monitoring of patients during the induction process are also required. Experience with detox and withdrawal is preferred. Rationale for patient ratio experiences includes working with multiple medication passes and detox situations. Preferred backgrounds include emergency department or medical-surgical experience along with corrections experience. You will be required to float between Detox, Medical Intake, and Behavioral Health as needed. Training and onboarding will focus on correctional settings and specific departmental protocols. Candidates must have experience in patient assessment, medication administration, and managing withdrawal symptoms. This position involves high patient volumes, with a daily census typically ranging from 1800 to 1950.
