Associate Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - Power Generation Company: Black & Veatch Join our team as an Associate I&C Engineer in Power Generation. This role supports technical design, procurement, coordination, and oversight for power plant I&C systems. Responsibilities Support a team of I&C engineers and assist in technical design, procurement, planning and coordination for power plants. Generate engineering design documents and deliverables for power plant systems. Prepare design documents: logic diagrams, network architecture, instrument lists, I/O lists, installation details, schematics, wiring drawings, calculations, studies, specifications. Mentor lower‑level engineers and review their work. Qualifications Previous I&C design experience for large‑scale power plants. Experience with control system network architecture diagrams, I/O lists, instrument data sheets, control narratives, control logic diagrams, P&IDs, and procurement specifications. Knowledge of instrumentation and process automation system applications and selection. Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of a team. Willingness to learn power industry processes and procedures. Flexible to work extra hours when required by client or project. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program and at least 1 year of related work experience. Preferred Certifications Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred. Work Environment & Schedule Typical office environment; may require some site visits for physical tasks such as crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods.
