Registered Respiratory Therapist - Nights

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in adult ventilator care and critical care assessment. The therapist will work in the Cardiopulmonary department, providing comprehensive respiratory care and diagnostic services.

Responsibilities

• Perform bedside spirometry and pulmonary function tests.
• Conduct arterial blood gas punctures and evaluate results.
• Administer EKGs and perform holter scanning.
• Execute critical care ventilation and assessment procedures.
• Determine appropriateness of prescribed therapy based on patient assessments.
• Collect and evaluate additional clinical information through patient interactions.

Schedule

Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holidays required if needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 5 years of current experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
• Active RRT Certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Michigan Registered Respiratory Therapist License in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is strongly preferred.
• Ability to cross-train in Cardio-related procedures, such as EKG and stress testing.
