Engineering Manager, Data

Salary: $200,000 - 250,000 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking a mission-driven leader who is passionate about building core technology that improves healthcare.
• You bring 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering, including at least 2 years in an engineering management role, with a proven record of building teams or guiding them through major growth.
• You have a strong technical foundation in data engineering and are comfortable reviewing system designs, making architectural decisions, and contributing code in Python and SQL when needed.
• You have experience with cloud-native data platforms and modern data infrastructure, such as data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
• You have demonstrated success managing cross-functional stakeholders and turning business needs into engineering priorities.
• You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities change quickly and ambiguity is common.
• You hold a BS in Computer Science or a related discipline, or you have equivalent practical experience.
• Preferred: experience in healthcare, healthtech, or another regulated industry such as HIPAA, FDA, or GDPR.
• Preferred: experience with MLOps or infrastructure that supports machine learning workflows.
• Preferred: experience in multi-cloud environments and cloud cost optimization.

• We will look to you to build and lead a data engineering team, hiring and managing staff through mid-level engineers while setting the teams processes, culture, and development practices from the outset.
• You will take end-to-end technical and operational ownership of our AI Data Platform, which ingests, de-identifies, transforms, and serves clinical imaging data and reports.
• You will define the platforms technical direction and execute the roadmap, balancing scalability improvements, new capabilities, and technical debt reduction in line with business goals.
• You will establish data quality frameworks, validation controls, and governance procedures, while ensuring the platform remains compliant with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
• You will act as the main point of contact for AI, Product, Clinical, and Regulatory partners, translating their needs into a prioritized roadmap and dependable delivery.
• You will coach and develop engineers across multiple seniority levels while gradually shifting from a hands-on role into full-time leadership as the team grows.
