Project Portfolio Operational Support Specialist

Blue Sky Innovative Solutions is seeking a Project/Portfolio Operational Support Specialist to support a high-visibility federal IT management and advisory services contract. You will work alongside experienced project managers, portfolio managers, and senior technical staff in a fast-paced federal environment, keeping critical IT initiatives on track through disciplined coordination, documentation, and tool management. What You'll Do Maintain and update project management artifacts including project management plans, integrated master schedules, dashboards, risk registers, and action item logs Support IT portfolio tracking, maintaining investment inventories, compiling metrics, and contributing to portfolio status reporting Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and track follow-up actions across cross-functional teams Administer project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, and SharePoint Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support real-time portfolio and project visibility Support documentation management and knowledge repository maintenance in accordance with document control best practices Help coordinate stakeholder communications and consolidate inputs to support alignment across government and contractor teams Assist with preparing deliverables to meet federal formatting, Section 508, and quality standards Required U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency (Public Trust clearance eligibility required) 24 years of experience in project coordination, administrative support, or IT operations in a federal or professional services environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and Power BI Hands‑on experience with Jira for issue tracking and agile workflow management Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively Customer service orientation and strong attention to detail Preferred Experience supporting federal IT programs, particularly in a health or biomedical research environment Familiarity with Smartsheet or MS Project Working knowledge of PMBOK, Agile, or federal IT lifecycle frameworks (e.g., EPLC) Experience with SharePoint administration or knowledge management Relevant certifications (CAPM, PMP, ITIL, or similar) Blue Sky is an equal opportunity employer and recruits mission-oriented, proactive, skilled candidates from across the United States.
