Description This is a hybrid position located at Gateway facility 5555 Cleveland Ave. Columbus, Ohio or 295 Huntington Circle Akron, Ohio Summary: Under general supervision, a Dispute Specialist 1 researches and resolves disputed transactions daily, including fraud and non-fraud transactions, rejected transactions originating from use of a debit or credit card or an electronic payment (ACH, Zelle, Bill Pay). Initiates appropriate action to resolve disputes, ensuring potential financial risk to Huntington in mitigated, utilizing available resources and minimizing any negative impact on the customer experience. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. This position is typically cross trained to perform various functions in the area. This is a hybrid position located at Gateway facility 5555 Cleveland Ave. Columbus, Ohio or 295 Huntington Circle Akron, Ohio Duties & Responsibilities: * Analyze and resolve fraudulent fraud & non-fraud, merchant or errors on debit and credit cards, ATM, ACH and other electronic payment disputes * Administer dispute decisions making customer account adjustments. Process disputes quickly and accurately, following up with both internal and external customers on account actions, while delivering consistently high-quality customer service * Escalate issues that require additional review, or exceptions to routine processing to next level of staff/management. Provide thorough documentation including a clear audit trail of actions taken * Meet compliance requirements including deadlines of Reg E, Reg Z, NACHA and Mastercard * Maintain knowledge and understanding of the card industry, Mastercard, NACHA and compliance requirements * Other duties as assigned This is a hybrid position located at Gateway facility 5555 Cleveland Ave. Columbus, Ohio or 295 Huntington Circle Akron, Ohio Basic Qualifications: * High School diploma * 1+ years financial/banking experience Preferred Qualifications: * Proficient in the use of various desktop and internet-based applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) * Ability to read and interpret procedures and regulatory documentation * Excellent customer service skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills #LI-Hybrid Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay) No Workplace Type: Office Our Approach to Office Workplace Type Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
