Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) to join our Sterile Processing Unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of typical OR instrumentation.
Utilize ultrasonic cleaning, decontamination processes, and assembly techniques.
Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and compliance with safety standards.
Work collaboratively with surgical teams to ensure seamless operation within the operating room.

Shift Details

This position involves 10-hour evening shifts from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with a requirement for call duty every 8 weeks during weekends (24-hour call on Saturday and Sunday).

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience in Sterile Processing.
Mandatory certifications: BLS (AHA) and either CRCST or CBSPD.

The Sterile Processing Unit is equipped to oversee the processing of instruments across 9 surgical suites, supporting a variety of surgical disciplines.

Orientation and Scheduling

Our team offers comprehensive orientation for new staff members to ensure a smooth transition into the department. Scheduled shifts consist of 4x10 hours, and self-scheduling is permitted.

Additional Information

Dress code for the unit requires blue (ceil) scrubs. Candidates should be prepared for a call response time of 30 minutes.
