Job Overview A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its Insurance Defense practice in Wheaton, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have two to five years of litigation experience in insurance defense and be licensed to practice law in Illinois. Dual licensure in Illinois and Indiana is preferred. Duties Draft pleadings, motions, orders, discovery, and legal memoranda. Prepare and respond to written discovery and conduct legal research. Take and defend depositions. Review client documents and draft case evaluations. Prepare status report correspondence. Assist with mediations, pretrial settlement conferences, and court appearances. Interact with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, and colleagues. Manage a substantive case load with minimal supervision. Requirements Licensed to practice law in Illinois and Indiana. Proficient with Lexis and MS Office. Strong legal research and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Navigate hearings in state and federal court with professionalism. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Illinois and Indiana. Skills Legal research and analytical skills. Proficiency in Lexis and MS Office. Strong communication skills.
