Job Overview Part time night shift, 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., at Trenton Hospital, 5450 Fort St, Trenton. Up to $750 sign‑on bonus for new hires. About the Unit The unit is a 38‑bed Med/Surg unit with all private rooms, 4 bariatric capable rooms, 2 negative pressure rooms, and telemetry capability. It cares for a variety of patients including renal issues, abdominal pain, complicated UTIs, post‑op patients, CIWA patients, psych patients, SOB/COPD exacerbation, hospice, anemia, pneumonia, DVT, and seizure management. Scope of Work / Responsibilities Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and helps in the environmental maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined practice. Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients promptly under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, including specific procedures and patient testing addressed in the patient plan of care. Maintains an orderly unit environment with sufficient supplies and equipment in order to facilitate staff performance of patient care. Contributes to effective communication related to the provision of patient care and the efficient operation needs of the unit. Facilitates the admission, discharge and transfer of patients on and off unit in accordance with established policies and procedures. Qualifications High School Graduate or Equivalent, Required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), Required. Previous hospital or nursing home experience, Preferred. Current CNA certification, Preferred.
