Commercial Lender - Growth Market Opportunity


A growing Louisiana-based community bank is seeking an experienced Commercial Lender to help expand and develop a new growth market in the Lafayette area. This is a high-visibility opportunity for a motivated lender who enjoys business development, relationship management, and building a territory with strong support from executive leadership and an established underwriting team.


This role is ideal for a self-starter with strong Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending experience who can independently develop relationships, grow a portfolio, and become a long-term leader within the organization. This opportunity also offers potential future advancement into market leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow commercial banking relationships throughout the Lafayette market and surrounding areas
  • Build and manage a portfolio of CRE, C&I, and business banking relationships
  • Generate new loan and deposit opportunities through business development and community involvement
  • Structure, negotiate, and present commercial credit requests for approval
  • Maintain strong credit quality while managing client relationships throughout the lending process
  • Partner with underwriting and credit teams to ensure timely loan processing and portfolio management
  • Expand the bank’s presence in a developing territory with support from executive leadership
  • Represent the bank within the local business community and professional organizations
  • Cross-sell treasury management, deposit, and other banking solutions to commercial clients
Qualifications
  • Approximately 5+ years of commercial lending experience preferred
  • Experience with CRE and C&I lending required
  • Ability to independently manage and grow a commercial portfolio
  • Existing business development network and ability to bring relationships preferred
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, loan structuring, and risk management
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with strong communication skills
  • Community banking background preferred
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary range approximately $150,000 - $200,000 depending on experience and portfolio
  • Incentive/bonus program available
  • Mileage reimbursement and phone allowance
  • Company credit card provided
  • 3-4 weeks PTO depending on level/title
  • Strong internal underwriting support team
