Position Overview

This Facility is seeking experienced ICU/Neuro ICU RNs for a 13-week assignment in their 16-bed Neuro ICU unit . You’ll care for critically ill neurological patients requiring advanced interventions in a fast-paced, highly specialized environment.

⏰ Schedule Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Scheduling: Partial self-scheduling (manager balances schedule)

✅ Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years ICU experience (Neuro ICU strongly preferred)
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
• License: Active RN license
• EMR: Meditech

Key Skills & Experience

• Care of critically ill neuro patients
• Ventilator management
• EVD (external ventricular drain) management
• CRRT & SLED exposure
• Hemodynamic monitoring (EV1000)
• Central & arterial line care
• Rapid response & critical care interventions

• Unit: Neuro ICU (NVICU)
• Beds: 16
• Patient Ratios: 2:1 (occasionally 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity)

• Lumbar puncture support
• Chest tube & EVD insertions
• Advanced ICU technology:
  • Ventilators
  • CRRT / SLED
  • EV1000 monitoring system

Team & Support

• Unit secretary available during day shift
• Occasional nurse extern (tech support)
• Collaborative ICU team environment
• Strong focus on patient & family-centered care

Floating

• Travelers are first to float
• May float to Med-Surg units if needed

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs required
