A&R/ Talent Manager - Urban

The Company Legion is a full-service creative agency with management and publishing divisions and is home to a select roster of charting and developing artists, songwriters, and producers within the music industry. Legion is a close-knit team with a client-centric focus, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, and operating globally. The company provides marketing, branding and development services, and studio access to all clients. Position Summary Legion is seeking an entrepreneurial, highly organized, and autonomous A&R capable of making an immediate impact by securing placements, driving creative sessions, and actively pushing catalog across the roster. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in A&R, publishing, or management, with a track record of delivering results through strong industry relationships. This person will likely have gained experience within record labels, music publishers, or management companies, developing deep networks with artists, writers, producers, studios, and executives. This role reports directly to the CEO and Founder and is based in Los Angeles. Role Responsibilities Develop the careers of writers and producers by maximizing opportunities for their talent, songs and catalogs. Secure song and production placements for songwriters and producers on the roster. Organize, book, and oversee writing and recording sessions to generate commercially viable records Maintain and expand relationships with artists, managers, producers, labels, studios, and industry executives. Identify, recruit, and sign new songwriting and production talent aligned with the company’s vision. Coordinate splits, metadata, and delivery of assets in collaboration with partners. Monitor industry trends and emerging sounds to inform creative strategy and opportunity mapping. Qualifications 4 or more years of experience in A&R or Business Development in the music industry, with a track record of securing placements and facilitating creative sessions. Experience in music publishing or managing writers and producers preferred. Strong existing relationships with artists, writers, producers, and industry decision-makers. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong commercial and creative judgment, with an ear for hit songs and market trends. Experience managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in industry-standard tools like DISCO for catalog management. Ability to travel for sessions, showcases, and industry events as needed. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
