About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Clinic Infusion Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: California state license required (pending license not accepted) Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Outpatient infusion experience - Charting system experience (Epic preferred) Description: Start date: ASAP First time traveler welcome (with outpatient infusion experience). Weekend coverage may be required. Average daily census is 32 patients. The unit has 3 rooms with 6 beds. Patient diagnoses include autoimmune, infectious disease, iron deficiency, oncologic, and hematologic conditions, among others. This department provides ambulatory outpatient medications excluding chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is administered in a separate unit. No chemotherapy certification is required for this position. Administer biologic/immunotherapy medications, antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, iron infusions, blood transfusions, and hydration for oncology and obstetric patients. PICC line care and some pediatric line care and medications are also included. PICC placement experience or vascular access certification is preferred but not required. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Travelers may be expected to float between facilities. Referencing prior experience and references is necessary during the compliance process. Travelers may be expected to work during major holidays. Housing options should be explored before the start of the assignment. Module completion is expected prior to and annually during the assignment. Time spent on modules is self-reported and will be recorded.
