Registered Nurse - OB GYN

Location: Ottumwa, IA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 (7 PM - 7 AM), 36 or 48 hours guaranteed per week, with every other weekend required.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in OB GYN to join our team. The candidate will work in a collaborative environment and provide exceptional care to expecting mothers and their families. The role involves monitoring patients during labor, guiding them through delivery, and ensuring the health and safety of both mother and child.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care and support to laboring women.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and uterine contractions.
• Administer medications and manage interventions as necessary.
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EHR.
• Assist with couplet care and educate patients and families on postpartum care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 1-2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on OB GYN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Iowa or compact state.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE required.
• Must have a background check clearance including criminal and child abuse checks.
• Mandatory reporter certification for child and adult abuse required.
• 10-panel drug test required.
• Titers for MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB must be up to date.
