You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in.Ferguson is seeking a Machinist to join our team at our La Porte location.Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-4pm plus overtime as neededResponsibilities:Setup and maintain machines in the shop for pump fabrication.Accurately measure, record, and draw pump components. Example of measuring tools (Vernier Calipers, Micrometer, Inside Micrometers and indicators).Read and analyze design drawings, work orders, and production schedules.Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as VTL, Horizontal Boring Machine, & Lathes.Support teardown and assembly of pumps when machining not required.Observe vital safety precautions for fabrications, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping of equipment and parts for storage and transportation.Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safe operating procedures.Qualifications:1-3 years of manual lathe experience preferredPrior of fabrication experience is preferredAbility to work with little direction while building tools or fixtures for production.Strong conceptual skillsStrong communication skills and a positive attitudeAbility to remain results-focused in the fast-paced customer service environment.Welding experience a plus*Pre-employment drug and background screening required*At Ferguson, we care for each other.
