Pricipal Infrastructure, Network & Platform Migration EngineerJob#: 3055287Job Description:Location: 100% REMOTEContract: Long term open endedInfrastructure, Network & Platform Migration EngineerPosition SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Infrastructure, Network & Platform Migration Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise application migration and separation program. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring applications can successfully transition from legacy environments into target platforms including cloud, data center, VMware, Microsoft, and government-compliant environments.This is a hands-on engineering position focused on identifying technical risks before cutover events occur. The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting complex enterprise migrations, validating infrastructure dependencies, and troubleshooting connectivity issues across highly integrated environments.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport application migration and separation activities across multiple target environments, including SaaS platforms, Microsoft commercial tenants, GCC/GCC High environments, VMware platforms, Active Directory environments, and traditional data centers.Validate infrastructure readiness prior to migration and cutover events.Analyze and troubleshoot:Network routing and connectivityFirewall rules and traffic flowsDNS and name resolutionServer and hosting platformsVMware infrastructureHybrid cloud environmentsActive Directory dependenciesVerify application communication paths and identify undocumented infrastructure dependencies.Collaborate with application owners, network teams, infrastructure teams, and security teams to resolve migration blockers.Review migration plans and challenge technical assumptions when risks or gaps are identified.Participate in migration bridges, war rooms, and production cutover activities.Perform root-cause analysis during migration events and determine whether issues originate from infrastructure, networking, platform configuration, security controls, or application dependencies.Support post-cutover stabilization and remediation efforts.Document recurring migration risks, lessons learned, and recommendations for future migrations.Required Qualifications8+ years of infrastructure engineering, network engineering, cloud engineering, or platform engineering experience.Multiple enterprise-scale migration and cutover projects supporting production applications.Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.Hands-on experience with:Active DirectoryVMwareWindows and Linux server environmentsDNSTCP/IP networkingFirewall technologiesHybrid cloud infrastructureData center migrationsExperience validating application dependencies and connectivity requirements.Ability to work effectively in poorly documented environments.Experience supporting high-pressure production cutovers and migration events.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale separation projects.Experience with FedRAMP, GCC, or GCC High environments.Cloud platform experience (Azure preferred).Understanding of identity and authentication concepts.Experience supporting TSA (Transition Services Agreement) environments and coexistence strategies.What Makes Someone SuccessfulDoesn't rely solely on documentation and architecture diagrams.Validates how applications actually communicate and operate.Quickly identifies hidden dependencies before they become production incidents.Comfortable challenging assumptions and escalating technical concerns.Strong judgment on what must be resolved before cutover versus after migration.Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
