Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care in the ED, including rapid assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring of patients
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and phlebotomy as ordered; manage care plans and document responses
- Document care in the MEDITECH electronic health record; communicate clearly with physicians, other nurses, and ED staff
- Triage, prioritize patient flow, implement life-saving interventions, and follow established ED protocols
- May assume charge nurse duties and supervise/mentor staff when assigned
- Ensure patient safety and safe patient handling, including use of lifts and proper transfer techniques

Requirements
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; defibrillation certification within six months of employment
- MEDITECH experience required
- Travel nursing experience required; 100-mile radius rule for assignment
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Critical Care and charge nurse experience preferred; ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations; IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy certifications during orientation
