Clinic X-Ray Tech

The Clinic X-Ray Tech is responsible for performing Radiology exams per physician's orders to aid in the proper diagnosis of the patients. Duties include:

1. Identifies patient and verifies pregnancy status, medical history, complaint and explains x-ray procedure.
2. Prepares patients for x-rays, performs, develops, and displays radiology exams.
3. Acts as a liaison between the patient and the doctor regarding radiology procedures.
4. Carries out physician's orders.
5. Orders all supplies related to clinic radiology department.
6. Assists with front office procedures (answering phones, giving referrals, scheduling, end of month, etc.) when needed.
7. Responsible for cleanliness of work area.
8. Responsible for entering patient radiology orders into Meditech.
9. Responsible for gathering patient information and films to send to radiologist for reading.
10. Responsible for final report presented to physician for review.
11. Prepares and files patient films in clinic radiology file room.
12. Verifies that films are returned to clinic after reporting is complete.
13. Maintains professional and courteous behavior to patients, visitors, and customers.
14. Maintains education updates and mandatory hospital training programs.
15. Uses the AIDET principles with each patient encounter.
16. Demonstrates knowledge of the requirements of The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies on a daily basis.
17. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Graduate from a Radiologic Technology program required. Current registry in good standing with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) preferred.
