Platform Engineer (Hybrid)

Job Description Enlighten is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer with experience in cloud technology (AWS), programming skills in Python or Go, and a strong Linux foundation. The engineer will develop custom software components and integrate open-source code to solve complex problems using cutting-edge Big Data and Cloud technology, working autonomously to solve problems while supporting strategic goals set by team architects. Strong systems integration skills and an eye for enhancing, optimizing, or increasing robustness of existing code. Experience with infrastructure as code and modern tools to define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud. Design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications U.S. citizenship required; security clearance not required at start, but will be processed for Secret level. Candidates with a current Secret clearance also considered. 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Python or Go) with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree; OR a high school diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience. Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS. Experience with Kubernetes (or vendor flavors), Ansible, and storage layers (Ceph, Rook, Longhorn, etc.). Programming skills in Python or Go. Solid understanding of Linux systems, host/network security, applications, and proficiency in shell scripting (Bash). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in a hybrid environment, spending 1-2 days per week at the Grapevine, TX office. Preferred Requirements Experience or familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or other Big Data systems (e.g., Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR). Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab-CI, Travis-CI, Jenkins, etc.). Understanding of agile software development methodologies and standard tool suites (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitLab, etc.). Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Maven, virtualization (oVirt, Proxmox, VMware, etc.). DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required as directed by the customer.
