Per diem Speech Language Pathologist with dysphagia experience, prefer no CFY

Key Responsibilities Provide appropriate and comprehensive evaluations, re‑evaluations and treatments through discharge, in accordance with established departmental and discipline‑specific standards of care and practice and within insurance parameters as required. Evaluate, plan, direct and implement patient care using evidence‑based practice. Practice within the legal boundaries of Massachusetts license and other professional and governmental agencies. Provide appropriate direction to licensed staff. Direct other licensed and non‑licensed personnel as required, delegating duties to staff appropriately based on their role, knowledge and capability. Follow the organization’s infection control standards and maintain patient safety practices throughout all instances of patient care. Identify impairments that accurately reflect the patient’s status. Establish goals in collaboration with the patient that are realistic, measurable and functional. Develop an appropriate plan of care based on evaluation findings, including rehabilitation potential and prognosis as well as frequency and duration of follow‑up care. Implement appropriate treatment interventions based on established goals. Provide initial and ongoing patient education and/or home exercise program as necessary. Interact with patients and family in a compassionate manner, demonstrating confidence, empathy, sensitivity and patience. Discharge patient from service when skilled therapy is no longer appropriate. Support South Shore Health and the department’s mission, vision and values; adhere to policies and procedures. Complete documentation and billing: write clear, complete documentation reflecting the patient’s current status and ongoing needs; adhere to guidelines for timeliness, accuracy and completeness; perform accurate charge capture (enter charges that reflect documented treatment). Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum education: MS in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited school. Preferred: previous clinical or rehabilitation experience. Required licenses: Speech Language Pathologist, active Massachusetts license to practice speech therapy. Required certifications: active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech‑Language Pathology in Massachusetts. Required additional certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association; Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP); Instructor–BLS – American Heart Association; Speech Language Pathologist – Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Office of Health and Human Services.
