Registered Practical Nurse

Job Summary RVH has the largest surgical program in NSM LHIN with 65% of surgeons and about 80,000 annual surgical cases. As the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you are a professional caregiver responsible for providing quality patient care in accordance with the organization’s philosophy, policies, and the standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities Provide patient care and support within the Surgery 2 and Surgery 3 Inpatient units, maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of nursing processes and interprofessional teamwork. Requirements Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BCLS certification Sound knowledge of the nursing process and professional responsibilities Membership in a professional nursing association relevant to the service area Ability to function independently within scope of practice Computer literacy in current software applications Preferred Experience At least 2 years of surgical experience Advanced wound care or ostomy education and/or experience Candidate Profile Strong problem‑solving, communication, conflict‑resolution, and decision‑making skills Excellent organizational skills Commitment to professional growth and to continuous quality improvement and customer service Willingness to learn from and with the patient care team to foster a collaborative care model Equity & Inclusion RVH is committed to recruitment and selection practices that are anchored in principles of equity and inclusion, creating an anti‑oppressive, respectful, and culturally safe workplace.
