Located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury, MN, it's the only hospital in the southeast metro area. Woodwinds provides convenient, comprehensive and quality health care for the community. We're known for attention to detail and attention to patients and the calming ambiance is enhanced by the surrounding woods and wetlands.Schedule: This RN OR position will be working 56 hours every 2 weeks on the Day/Evening shifts. The schedule includes: 8 hour shifts M-F, off premise call on weekends, holidays, and nights. Staff need to be within 30 minutes of the hospital to meet call requirements.About the OR at Woodwinds:Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. Located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury, MN, it's the only hospital in the southeast metro area.Woodwinds is an acute care setting that can lead a variety of surgical specialties.We have 6 Operating Rooms with surgical volumes on an average day can range from 15-25 cases.Woodwinds Operating Room specifically focus on General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ortho Spine, Podiatry, OB/GYN, Plastics, ENT, and Ophthalmology.This position will serve an adult patient population (16 years or older).As an Operating Room RN, you will be responsible for:Implementing protective measures prior to operative or invasive procedure, including measures to prevent skin or tissue injury due to thermal, mechanical, electrical and chemical sources.Confirming identity before the operative or invasive procedure and verifying operative procedure, surgical site and laterality.Appling safety devices, performing required counts, managing specimen handling and disposition.Demonstrating knowledge about the psychologic, sociologic, and spiritual responses of patients and their families regarding the operative or other invasive procedure.Appling principles of aseptic technique while establishing and maintaining sterile fields.Performing skin preparations, monitoring for wound contamination, and classifying the surgical wound.The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
