The role involves working in a same-day surgery setting. Shift hours will be either 36 or 40 hours per week. There is no call requirement for this position. However, late days are a requirement. The daily patient census is between 23 to 28. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit consists of six operating rooms and six beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy and respiratory services, among others. The nurse will be responsible for various surgical procedures such as abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, cholecystectomy, and mastectomy. Other responsibilities include patient monitoring, administration of blood products, and infection control. Knowledge of infection control protocols and universal protocol practices is critical. The position requires skills in both scrubbing and circulating roles in surgeries. The role may involve working alongside diverse patient diagnoses and special procedures. The nurse will be part of a supportive team environment aimed at providing high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
