This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12.0 hours.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. This role operates within the limits of professional licensure and under minimal supervision. The Therapist evaluates patients and recommends treatment plans, explains procedures and treatments, and conducts care as directed by physicians.

• Administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation using various ventilatory and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning to promote secretion clearance.
• Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring, and perform routine evaluations of chest x-rays.
• Engage in pulmonary function studies and assist with respiratory procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tubes as necessary.
• Monitor and report on arterial puncture tests and ventilation efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with policies regarding laboratory testing, including specimen handling and equipment maintenance.
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Document treatment information and collaborate with physicians regarding patient progress.
• Maintain accurate records of respiratory therapy charges and perform data entry.

• State licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience with ventilatory equipment and respiratory care procedures is essential.
