Associate Attorney – Litigation & Contract Law

Albany, NY

Fusco Personnel has been retained to recruit for a growing and highly respected law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its litigation practice in the Albany area. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to take ownership of complex matters, gain substantial courtroom and client exposure, and grow within a collaborative legal environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of litigation experience and a strong foundation in contract law. Experience handling commercial, construction, or contract-related disputes is highly preferred, though candidates with other litigation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized with a strong work ethic and commitment to client service. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take on meaningful responsibility and hands-on litigation experience. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
• Manage and coordinate responses to complex discovery requests
• Prepare for and conduct depositions
• Issue interrogatories and review case-related documents
• Organize and maintain electronic client files and case materials
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law
• Negotiate settlements and assist with dispute resolution
• Attend court appearances, hearings, and conferences as needed
• Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients
• Independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution

Qualifications and Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York State Bar required
• 2–5 years of litigation experience preferred
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with experience: $90,000 – $160,000
