Food Service Worker

The Food Service Worker will work under the direction of the Food Service Manager to perform prep work, washing, weighing and measuring designated ingredients, carrying food to and from work areas in accordance with safety standards, storing food in designated areas following food safety procedures, cleaning work equipment, utilizing approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control, serving customers in a friendly, efficient manner following company service standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday-Friday and Weekends. Shift: Flexible (7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, 11:00pm-7:00am).

Primary duties responsibilities:

• Delivers superb customer service.
• Adheres to hospital policies.
• Cleans and stocks the cafeteria/retail area as needed.
• Speaks with the customers/staff to get feedback on meals so that adjustments and improvements can be made.
• Returns soiled and dirty dishes to the dish room area.
• Keeps the work area clean.
• Assists with kitchen operations down time and when the census is low.
• Utilizes Register (Point of Sale) to check out guests.
• Manages time and duties professionally and respectfully.
• Assists the utility workers with cleaning if needed.
• Participates in team meetings and training.
• Follows the department dress code and appearance policy.
• Reports malfunctioning or inoperable equipment to Manager.
• Maintains composure in demanding and difficult situations and attempts of solutions.
• Assists with other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Be well-versed in-patient diets, regulatory and sanitation practices.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Must be able to read and perform simple math and efficiently with technology.
