Functions Area of Responsibilities Prepares for medical procedures by obtaining medical histories and explaining proposes and procedures of the test to be performed. Conducts electroencephalographic testing and evaluate patterns formed by the brain to assist in the diagnosis of epilepsy, cardiovascular disease, or other brain lesions. Assist in nerve conduction studies to evaluate electrical potentials from peripheral nerve. Conducts polysomnograms to identify, evaluate dysfunction in the sleep wake cycles and breathing disorders or arrhythmias during sleep. Conducts electronystamograms measuring electrical potentials from the eyes to determine between inner ear disfunctions and central nervous system involvement. Oversees proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Keeps proper records of tests, results, diagnosis and subsequent patient treatment. Assists Sleep Lab staff with scheduling of appointments for both Sleep and EEG patients Assists Sleep Lab staff with distribution and intake of home study testing equipment. Employee will NOT be responsible or take part in the scoring of sleep exams. Provides exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and other employees. Through the established systems and protocols used to evaluate staff for excellent customer service employee will achieve the set goals. Responsible for maintaining all professional registrations and certifications Participates in performance improvement activities by helping to identify, monitor and achieve improvement goals established by the department.
