Job Description Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse (CVOR) FULL‑TIME, variable shifts with night, weekend and holiday call with a 30‑minute response time to join our Nemours Children’s Hospital team in Orlando, Florida. $10,000 sign‑on bonus!!! Tuition Reimbursement – up to $5,250 annually Relocation Assistance $3,000 Employee Referral Bonus Two years of experience in a specialty required to obtain the bonus. Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated health‑care system. Our 100‑bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24‑hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics—including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children’s Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in health‑care innovation to deliver world‑class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region. Responsibilities Practice of professional nursing, including observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling; promotion of wellness. Administration of medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state. Supervision and teaching of other personnel. Implement the patient‑care delivery model for the patient and their family. Utilize policies, procedures, guidelines, and reliable methods to make clinical practice decisions. Independently develop, implement, evaluate, and modify clinical practice. Collect and interpret complex patient data with clinical events to make clinical decisions to meet individual needs. Recognize and respond to dynamic situations, exercising clinical judgment based on a comprehensive view of the patient population. Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, proactively seek expert consultation, and delegate to other clinicians as appropriate. Demonstrate knowledge‑seeking behaviors, identify clinical questions, and pursue resources or education opportunities to improve patient care. Participate in the research process and implement changes in practice based on evidence. Create a safe, compassionate, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff. Promote comfort and healing and prevent unnecessary suffering. Develop professional and trusting relationships that facilitate patient/family coping while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Recognize, appreciate, and incorporate differences into patient‑ and family‑centered care, including cultural, spiritual, gender identity, lifestyle, race, ethnicity, language, socioeconomic status, age, developmental, and values. Demonstrate effective methods of communication to meet health‑literacy needs. Preserve and protect confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and families. Advocate on behalf of patients, families, and staff while promoting adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Act as a resource for patients and families working toward resolution of ethical concerns; initiate ethics consult when appropriate. Collaborate with patients, families, and staff to develop and achieve optimal goals across the continuum. Participate in team meetings and discussions regarding patient care and practice issues. Involve inter‑professional work with colleagues and community. Participate in governance, councils, committees, ad hoc teams to improve clinical practice and patient‑care outcomes. Utilize appropriate resources to plan and provide nursing services that are safe, effective, and financially responsible. Develop strategies across the continuum of care driven by the patient and family’s unique needs and strengths. Contribute to development and revision of standards of care policies and procedures. Identify educational needs and facilitate formal and informal learning for patients, families, staff, and the community. Assess readiness to learn and utilize evidence‑based teaching plans. Serve as mentor, coach, and preceptor based on unit needs and individual preferences. Qualifications ASN required. Active Florida or multi‑state RN license, required. National certification in area of clinical specialty (preferred). Minimum of 6 months RN experience required; experience in pediatric specialty preferred. Valid American Heart Association BLS Certification; must be valid for 90 days post‑start date. Valid American Heart Association PALS. Valid American Heart Association ACLS within 90 days of hire.
